Gorgeous purple and red welts, just like grandma's switch used to leave on my thighs every summer. He should let it wrap around a little more, to catch her hips and the sides of her legs. Those are the ones that really remind you to behave.

The switch is agonisingly painful, far worse than the cane in my opinion. Many times I went to bed with my bottom red raw and stinging dreadfully, after being whipped by my Mum who was a real expert with the switch.
